Fora’s art and design are at the heart of the experience — shaping how the space feels, flows, and connects guests to a broader creative story.

Designed by award-winning Ste. Marie Design Group, the restaurant reflects The Emily Hotel’s ongoing commitment to celebrating artists from Chicago and around the world. Every element has been intentionally curated to create a layered, immersive environment—one that feels both refined and deeply personal.

Guests are first welcomed by a bold painted work from Raspy Rivera, a Chicago-based artist and the hotel’s inaugural Artist in Residence. Positioned at the entrance, the piece sets the tone for what’s to come: a space where local talent anchors a globally inspired perspective.

Throughout Fora, textiles introduce warmth, movement, and texture. These works are created by Jessica Alejandra of Vita Boehme, an artist originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, now based in Palm Beach, Florida. Her pieces bring a tactile softness that contrasts beautifully with the restaurant’s modern architectural elements.

A standout feature within the space is a sculptural mirror installation by Candice Luter, an Iowa-based fiber artist and interior designer. Known for her dimensional work, Luter’s piece acts as both functional design and artistic focal point—adding depth, reflection, and a sense of discovery.

Fora’s walls further extend the narrative through a curated collection of ceramics sourced from independent makers across the globe. Plates from Every Story Studio in Nottingham, England, YomYom Ceramic by Joseph Malca in Israel, and Pottery Props by Paula in Madrid, Spain, create a collected, gallery-like display. Each piece carries its own story, contributing to a rich visual tapestry that celebrates craftsmanship and cultural diversity.

Together, these elements form a cohesive design language—one that blends Chicago artistry, international influence, and contemporary hospitality design. The result is more than a restaurant interior; it’s an evolving showcase of creative expression.

Whether you’re joining for brunch, dinner, or cocktails in Fulton Market, Fora offers a space where art is not just seen, but experienced—making it a standout destination for those seeking art-forward restaurants and design-driven dining in Chicago.
